# Recording & Transcription

> Record interview audio and automatically transcribe it with AI.

Credentials Portal includes built-in audio recording so you can capture the interview session directly in the app. After recording, AI automatically transcribes the audio. A summary can be generated on demand from the transcript.

## Transcription

After you stop recording, Credentials Portal automatically:

1. **Saves the audio file** to the interview record
2. **Transcribes the audio** using AI speech-to-text (supports multiple languages — the language is detected automatically)

Transcription typically completes within a minute or two depending on recording length.

## Review and edit the transcript

The raw transcript appears in the interview record under the recording. You can read and copy it, but editing the transcript directly is not currently supported.

You can generate an AI **summary** of the transcript on demand — click **Summarize** to produce a condensed overview. Use it as a quick reference, always review the full transcript for accuracy.

<Note>
  AI transcription is accurate but not perfect. For official records, review the transcript before relying on it.
</Note>

## Multiple recordings

You can add more than one recording to an interview — for example, if you record different parts of the session separately. Each recording has its own audio file and transcript.

Click **+ Add Recording** to start an additional recording.
