# Your Role as a Board Member

> An overview of what board members can see and do in Credentials Portal.

As a member of the Credentials Board, your role in Credentials Portal is to participate in the candidate interview process — reviewing candidate information, conducting interviews, and documenting your board's findings.

## What you can do

## What you can see

Your access is scoped to your assigned board and the candidates who appear before it:

| Candidate profiles             | View              |
| Candidate files                | View              |
| District settings              | No                |
| Other boards' interviews       | No (unless admin) |

## Your board assignment

Your district administrator assigns you to one or more boards. You can only view and conduct interviews for candidates appearing before your board(s).

If you believe you've been assigned to the wrong board, contact your district administrator.

1. Log in at [app.credentialsportal.com](https://app.credentialsportal.com) — see [Logging In](/help/getting-started/login) if you need help
2. Review candidates who are scheduled for your board
