# Your Role as a Mentor

> An overview of what mentors can see and do in Credentials Portal.

As a mentor, your role is to guide candidates through the credentialing process — offering support, reviewing their progress, and staying informed about their board interviews.

## What you can do

## Who your candidates are

Your district administrator assigns candidates to you. You can see your assigned candidates in the **People** directory — they'll be listed as your mentees.

If you're not seeing any candidates, contact your district administrator to confirm your assignments.

## Getting started

1. Log in at [app.credentialsportal.com](https://app.credentialsportal.com)
2. Go to **People** to see your assigned candidates
