# Editing Your Profile

> Update your name, language, and profile photo in Credentials Portal.

Your profile stores the basic information that appears throughout the app — in messages, interview records, and the people directory.

## Update your information

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open your profile">
    Click your avatar or name in the top-right corner of the app, then select **Profile**.

  <Step title="Edit your details">
    Update your first name, last name, or preferred language. Your email address is managed by your district administrator.

  <Step title="Save changes">
    Click **Save** to apply your changes.

## Change your profile photo

    Navigate to your profile as described above.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Upload a photo">
    Click your current avatar (or the avatar placeholder) and select a photo from your device. Supported formats: JPEG, PNG.

  <Step title="Crop and confirm">
    Use the crop tool to frame your photo, then click **Save**.

## Change your language

Your language setting controls:

* The language the app interface is displayed in
* The language used when messages are auto-translated to you

To change it, go to your profile and select a language from the **Language** dropdown.

<Tip>
  Credentials Portal supports 90+ languages. Messages sent by others are automatically translated into your selected language.

## What you can't change yourself

| Field            | Who can change it      |
| ---------------- | ---------------------- |
| Email address    | District administrator |
| Assigned roles   | District administrator |
| Track enrollment | District administrator |
